Medford Pritchett

Medford J. Pritchett, 94, of Bishops Head passed away on April 11, 2010 at Mallard Bay Care Center. He was born at Bishops Head on August 5, 1915 and was a son of the late Frank and Hattie Slacum Pritchett.

Mr. Pritchett attended schools at Bishops Head. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. On April 10, 1947 he married the former Frances Madaline Ruark. He was a waterman. He enjoyed playing softball in his earlier years and he liked to ride in his pickup truck. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife Frances Madaline Pritchett of Bishops Head; a sister in law Beatrice Lucille Pritchett of Staunton, VA and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a son James Medford Pritchett, two sisters Mary Powley and Ina Pritchett, five brothers Clyde Pritchett, Franklin Pritchett, Donald Pritchett, Alton Pritchett and Carlton Pritchett.

Pallbearers will be F. Levi Ruark, Dennis Hrusecky, Earl Todd, Edwin Todd, Snooks Windsor and Danny Pritchett.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Barbara Mills officiating. Interment will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock with military honors.
