Melanie J. Parker, 40, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at UMSMC at Dorchester. She was born on December 14, 1973 in Easton and was a daughter of Cynthia Lewis Love.

She graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High School class of 1991. In the fall of 1991, Melanie attended Salisbury State University and graduated in 1995 with a degree in Biology. In the fall of 1996, she attended UMES in the Physical Therapy program and graduated in 1999. She was employed in the Talbot County School System as a Physical Therapist for the infants and toddler programs until the fall 2012, when her health started to fail. She enjoyed jewelry making, dancing, traveling and surrounded herself with her closest friends. She volunteered with Cambridge Main Street.

She is survived by her mother Cindy Love of Cambridge, her fiance Stephen Bloodsworth of Cambridge, Abby Messick, who was like a sister, three aunts Kathryn Seifert of Parsonsburg, Linda Eaton of Ridgley, Marcia Palmer (aka Nancy Foxwell) of Cambridge, her two pets Luna and Sampson, numerous beloved cousins and a group of lifelong of friends. Melanie is preceded in death by an aunt Marcia Palmer.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Open Bible Church in Cambridge with Rev. Steven Bloodsworth officiating. Family will be receiving friends from 12 to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Saving Second Base, Team Wonder Women, 5016 River Road, Hurlock, MD 21643. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
