Merris Sue Hurley

Merris S. Hurley, 49, of East New Market passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at her home. She was born on September 5, 1964 in Washington, DC and was a daughter of Sydell Langbaum Brigman and the late Marvin Brigman.

Merris graduated from Wheaton High School class of 1982. She also attended and graduated from Georgetown Secretarial College. Merris was employed with Dorchester County Planning and Zoning. She enjoyed photography, fishing and feeding the wild life. Merris was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.

Merris is survived by her children Patrick Hurley of Cambridge and Paige Hurley of Cambridge, her companion Rodney Banks of East New Market, a sister Jill Werden and husband Michael and their children Alison and Jason of Washington, DC.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 1 p.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cambridge with Rev. Billy Frick officiating. Family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Susan G. Komen, P.O.
