Michael F. McMahon

Michael F. McMahon, 60, of Woolford passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at his home. He was born in Baltimore on November 23, 1954 and was a son of the late Henry McMahon and Rita Murphy McMahon.

Mike was a graduate of Queen Anne's County High School class of 1972. After serving in the U.S Army, he graduated with an AA from Chesapeake College and a BS from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. On April 27, 1985, he married Martha Nolan. Mike was the pharmacist manager at Rite Aid for 24 years in Easton and Cambridge. He was also a clinical assistant professor for the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. He enjoyed woodworking, skiing, reading and swimming. He was a charter member of the United Communities VFC on Kent Island, 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus #7941 and a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #278. Mike was also a member of Ducks Unlimited, the NRA, Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, Maryland Pharmacist Volunteer Corp, St. Mary's Star of the Sea, and a charter member and past president of the Queen Anne's County High School Alumni Association. He was also an active member of the Eastern Shore Pharmaceutical Society and the Maryland Pharmacy Association. As a member of the Board of Directors of the YMCA, he started the Splash Program.

Mike is survived by his wife Martha McMahon of Woolford, two children Mallory McMahon of Baltimore and Nolan McMahon of Woolford, two sisters Kathy Ayres (Dean) of Phoenix, MD, Janet Crutchley (Steve) of Stevensville, MD, a brother Pat McMahon and wife Cathy of Queenstown, MD and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Father William Lawler officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary Star of the Sea. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
