Michael Willingham Todd, 72, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at UMSMC at Easton. He was born in Rome, Georgia on December 13, 1946 and was a son of the late Jennings Willey Todd and Frances Willingham Todd.
Mike graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1964 and Salisbury State class of 1968. On November 15, 1974, he married the former Sue Barr of Salisbury. Mike took over the family’s seafood business and operated Todd Seafoods in Cambridge for 26 years. He later went on to work at Dorchester County Department of Social Services, retiring after 16 years of service. He loved spending time on the Choptank River and enjoyed fishing, boating, and crabbing. He was also an avid reader, was great at crosswords, and was an excellent cook. He was a wonderful father and loved his family more than anything.
He is survived by his wife Sue Todd of Cambridge, daughter Meredith Todd and her husband Alex Carpenter of Cambridge, son Rob Todd and his fiancée Brenna Bell and her daughter Morrigan of Cambridge, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Todd is preceded in death by brother Warren Todd and sister Alayne Todd.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at 1 pm at Christ Church in Cambridge with Father Bernie Schroeder and Father David Jones officiating. Family will receive friends from 12 to 1 in Barber Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Christ Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 456, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
