Mildred E. "Aunt Mil" Seward, 98, of Hudson passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at her home. She was born in Thomas on April 17, 1916 and was a daughter of the late William Albert Thomas and Nannie Selena Mowbray Thomas.

She attended schools in Hudson. On December 5, 1934, she married Wm. Edmonds Seward, who passed away on October 9, 1984. Aunt Mil was a farmer's wife. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking and was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan. Aunt Mil was a lifelong member of Spedden United Methodist Church and the Neck District Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by two daughters Janice Miller of Hudson and Lynn Sharp and husband Vick Spahr of Hills Point, three grandchildren Kim Seward, Jason Seward and Shane Sharp, a daughter in law Linda Seward of Cambridge, a great granddaughter Chloe Sharp of Cambridge and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Seward is preceded in death by a son Billy Seward, Jr. and a sister Louise Marshall.

Pallbearers will be David Marshall, Jr., Timmy Marshall, Marshall Wingate, Gene Brite, Dennis Marshall and Mike Mowbray, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be David Marshall, Sr. and Steve Wingate.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Spedden United Methodist Church with Pastor Pam Bockart officiating. Interment will follow at Spedden Seward Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Spedden United Methodist Church, c/o Carolyn Wright, 507 Gay Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to the Spedden Seward Cemetery Fund, c/o James Lewis, 806 Seabrease Road, Cambridge, MD 21613.
