Mildred Elizabeth (McKnett) McKnett

Mildred E. McKnett, 75, of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at UMSMC at Dorchester. She was born in Cambridge on July 29, 1942 and was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Clara Layton McKnett.
Ms. McKnett graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1960 and graduated from Salisbury State College in 1964. She worked for Caroline County Board of Education as a first grade teacher for 30 years. Ms. McKnett was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa.
She is survived by Jennifer McConnell Simmons (Joshua) a daughter that she never had and their children Douglas, Jeffrey and Matthew and several cousins. Besides her parents, Ms. McKnett was preceded in death by a sister Shirley Wheatley.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 10 am at East New Market Cemetery with Rev. Mary Ann Farnell officiating. A Celebration of Mickey’s Life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
