Moody S. Gray, 86, of Vienna, passed away on August 18, 2017 with his wife by his side.  He was born in Cambridge on August 7, 1931 to the late Shelton Gray and Linnie Bell Gray.

On October 17, 1996, Mr. Gray married the former Gladys Brinsfield.  Together, they enjoyed traveling to many destinations, including Tahiti, Hawaii, and Sanibel, Florida to name a few.  He especially loved visiting Lancaster, PA where he could sit back and listen to the horses trotting up and down the road.   He spent many years as a long distance truck driver for Crown Cork and Seal.  After retiring, he still enjoyed driving a truck for Steele Phillips and William Outten on their farm.  Mr. Gray spent many years serving as an ambulance driver for Vienna Volunteer Fire Company until his health began to fail.  He was a member of the Chicone Ruritan Club, a life member of the Vienna Volunteer Fire Company, and a member of the Vienna United Methodist Church.

Mr. Gray is survived by his wife Gladys Gray of Vienna, step daughters Karen Christmas and husband Bill of Ocean Pines, and Donna Bradley and husband Ray of St. Michaels, three grandsons, two great-granddaughters, two brothers Wayne Gray and wife Beverly of Bethel, DE, and Eldridge Gray and wife Anne of Charlottesville, VA.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte, who passed away on August 25, 1995.

Pallbearers will be Charles Gore, Christopher Bradley, Casey Bradley, Jimmy McFarlane, Jamie McFarlane, and William Outten.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. at 11 AM with Rev. Mary Ann Farnell officiating.  Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park.  Family will receive friends from 7-8 on Wednesday, August 23.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Vienna Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 291 Vienna, MD 21869, or to the Vienna United Methodist Church, C/O Mary Lee Bradshaw, P.O. Box 212 Vienna, MD 21869.
