Myrtle V. James, 99, of Cambridge passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at her home. She was born on September 30, 1912 near Hills Point and the daughter of the late Ira B. and Ella Condon Marshall.
She lived in the Neck District for many years, where she was raised and attended public schools. Mrs. James married Wilbur C. James in 1930. He passed away on August 10, 1997. She later moved to Cambridge. Mrs. James worked at the Jame's Confectionery Store in Cambridge. She was a long time member of the Spedden United Methodist Church and a member of the Cambridge Moose Lodge for many years.
She is survived by a daughter Delores Kersey and husband John of Cambridge, a son Bill James and wife Sharon of Cambridge, five grandchildren Kim James, Sonny James, Ellen Kersey, Walter Kersey and James Kersey, three great grandchildren Rebecca Williamson, John Kersey and Chase Kersey. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. James is preceded in death by a brother Winnie Marshall and a sister Rose Louise Marshall Moore.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Spedden Seward Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Miller officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
