Naomi L. Dickerson, 90 of Seaford formerly of Cambridge passed away on Friday, January 23, 2009 at the Methodist Manor House in Seaford. She was born in Baltimore on June 25, 1918 and was a daughter of the late Riche L. and Elsie Messick Dickerson.
Miss Dickerson graduated high school in Baltimore City. She worked for Social Security and was a senior program analyst. From 1978 until 2003 she was a resident of Cambridge and moved to Seaford in 2003 until her passing. She enjoyed playing bridge. Miss Dickerson was a volunteer at Dorchester General Hospital Auxiliary and was an accountant for the Robin Hood Shop. She was a member of Cambridge Yacht Club, Minerva Chapter 50, Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution and Grace United Methodist Church in Cambridge.
She is survived by two nephews Peter Fisher of Fairfax, VA and Michael Fisher of Asheville, NC. Besides her parents, Miss Dickerson is preceded in death by two brothers William Dickerson and David Dickerson and a sister Doris Dickerson Fisher .
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Tyaskin Church Cemetery with Rev. Douglas M. Ridley officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 501 Race Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to the Robin Hood Shop, 416 High Street, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
