Nellie Irene (Sanderson) Duvall

Nellie Irene Duvall, 97, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017 at UMSMC at Dorchester. She was born in Washington, DC on February 14, 1919 and was a daughter of the late Charles Willard Sanderson and Irene Hines Sanderson.
She was married to James Birch Duvall, Sr., who passed away on August 6, 1996. She and her daughter relocated to Cambridge in 2004. She enjoyed many family gatherings and being near her children. She particularly loved working picture puzzles with her daughter Dorothy and going for a good crab cake with her sons.
Survivors include four sons James Birch Duvall, Jr. of Linkwood, Maurice Patrick Duvall, William Michael Duvall both of Cambridge and Ronald Joseph Duvall of St. Leonard, Maryland, two daughters Dorothy Maureen Duvall of Ocean Pines and Nancy Ellen Duvall of Cambridge, a sister Barbara Lee Pandolfi of Gaithersburg, Maryland. Mrs. Duvall was blessed to spend many years with her children, numerous grandchildren and over fifteen great grandchildren. Beside her parents and husband, Mrs. Duvall is preceded in death by a brother James Sanderson.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 3 to 3:30 with a service to follow. Interment will be private at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland, MD. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
