Norman M. "Donnie" Slacum

Norman M. “Donnie” Slacum, 63, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at his home. He was born in Cambridge on September 28, 1952 and was the son of the late Norman Carter Slacum and Dorothy Alley Slacum.
He attended schools in Cambridge and studied at Villanova University. Mr. Slacum was employed by the Dorchester County Board of Education. He loved teaching and working with his students at Maces Lane Middle School. He loved his dog Itchy and was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Flyers.
He is survived by a half-sister Elizabeth Slacum Shildt of Charlotte, NC, a brother in law Robert Freeman of Salisbury, a niece Allyson Minor and husband Ryan of Salisbury, and two great nieces. Besides his parents, Mr. Slacum is preceded in death by a sister Lynda Freeman, niece Ashley Phillips and a half-sister Anne Slacum Plonk.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 2 pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Pastor Bob White officiating. Contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
