Oneita E. Bramble, 99, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, March 2, 2009 at Mallard Bay Care Center. She was born in Andrews on January 17, 1910 and was a daughter of the late Clarence and Florence Adams Dayton.
Mrs. Bramble attended schools in Dorchester County. In 1925 she married Charles Thomas Bramble. He passed away on January 29, 1964. She had worked for Dayton's Family Restaurant, Phillips Packing Company and Caldwell Casting Company. She lived for and fully enjoyed her family. Mrs. Bramble was an excellent cook and insisted that all of the family be there for dinner. She fully enjoyed taking trips with her family. Mrs. Bramble was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three sons Emerson T. Bramble and his wife Bettie of Cambridge, Charles R. Bramble and his wife Dorothy of Cambridge and L. Donald Bramble and his wife Peggie of Oklahoma, a daughter Peggy Bramble and husband John Bramble of Cambridge, grandchildren Fred Bramble, Jr., Emerson T. Bramble, Jr., C.R. Bramble, Angela Preston, John Bramble III, Tracie Burton, Irvin C. "Clay" Bramble, Jr., Lisa Hardy, Andrea Howeren and Donnie Bramble, 16 great grandchildren, two great- great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Bramble is preceded in death by two sons Frederick Q. Bramble and Irvin C. Bramble, Sr., a grandson Bruce Bramble and seven brothers and a sister.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Jay Hurley officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Grace United Methodist Church Baraca Class, 501 Race Street, Cambridge, MD 21613.
