Opal DeBusk Clyde, 98, of Cambridge, Md, and formerly of Leisure World in Seal Beach, Ca., passed awayat Mallard Bay Care Center, Monday, February 6. 2017. The daughter of Walter Raleigh DeBusk and Vota Lambert DeBusk, she was born November 8,1918, in Tazwell, Tn., and moved to Southern California as an infant. She graduated from Huntington Beach High School (Ca.) with the Class of 1937.
In 1939, she married Elmer Ellsworth (Bud) Clyde with whom she had two children, William Walter Clyde of Cambridge, Md., and Carol Margaret Clyde of Summerdale, Al.
Opal spent many years in retail sales including as Assistant Manager and Womens Clothing Buyer for the former Buffums Department Store. She especially enjoyed visiting the beach and walking on the Seal Beach Pier.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband were her brothers and sisters, Ira Frank DeBusk, William DeBusk, Orpha DeBusk Double, and Agness DeBusk Farquhar.
