Paul Pritchard, Sr., 88, of Cambridge passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017 at UMSMC at Dorchester. He was born in Cambridge on December 4, 1928 and was a son of the late Jack and Della Jackson Shorter.
He attended schools in Cambridge. Mr. Pritchard served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. On February 13, 1953, he married the former Mary Lee Cole, who passed away on October 22, 1990. He was a cook for Eastern Shore State Hospital. Mr. Pritchard enjoyed gardening, loved the water, and was an avid reader. He was a member of the American Legion Post 91 and he was also attending Sunnyside Alliance Church in Secretary. Mr. Pritchard was also one of the founders of Cambridge Little League.
He is survived by a son Leonard Pritchard of Georgetown, a daughter in law Karen Pritchard of Cambridge, two grandchildren Michael Pritchard of Cambridge and Angela Morris of Pennsylvania, a great grandson Joshua David Morris, a brother Harry Pritchard of Hebron and a nephew Larry Pritchard. Besides his parents and wife, Mr. Pritchard is preceded in death by a son Paul Pritchard, Jr.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 12:30 pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Pastor Mark Brumley officiating. Interment will follow at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
