Pauline (Polly) Foxwell Robbins, 91, of Cambridge went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at the Mallard Bay Nursing Home. She was born in Lakesville on March 27, 1920 to T. Houston and Jennie Vee Stevens Foxwell. She graduated from Crapo High School in 1937. On March 27, 1942, she married W. David Robbins. They lived at his home place in Robbins until 1953 when he built a home for them in Cambridge where she resided with him until she went to Mallard Bay in August 2007. She was circulation manager at the Daily Banner from 1952 until 1982 when she retired. She loved being with her family and her beloved cats. For over 20 years they enjoyed their Winter home in Hudson, FL. She and Dave joined St. Paul's United Methodist Church in 1954 and remained active until health issues prevented their participation. They were also major contributors for the Dorchester County Historical Society's newest addition known as the Robbins Heritage Center which opened in May of 2007. This building joins the complex which traces the County history through a variety of displays and interactive presentations. Mr. Robbins passed away on December 9, 2008. She is survived by brothers Leonard Foxwell (Janice) and James Foxwell, sister Julia Norris Mills (Jim), nieces and nephews, Bill Foxwell, Cindy Stevens (Russ), Len Foxwell, Jr. (Kerry), Julia Foxwell Lloyd (John), Barbara Cheesman (Thomas), Cathy Hayden (Tony), Jake Cranor (Joan), Eva Bartrum (Ora), Stephen Robbins (Melissa), David Robbins (Jo Ellen), Gene Robbins, and Cecil "Buck" Robbins (Shirley). Preceding her in death besides her husband Dave were a brother Thomas Foxwell, Jr., sisters in law Betty Foxwell and Evelyn Foxwell, brothers in law Cecil Robbins and Bill Franklin Robbins and nephews Thomas Foxwell III, James Foxwell, Jr., and Conrad Cranor. A funeral service will be held on Saturday 1pm with visitation from noon - 1pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. Pastor David Stewart will be officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Pall bearers will be nephews Bill Foxwell, Len Foxwell, Jr., Stephen Robbins, Tony Hayden, Sr., Russ Stevens, Jr., and John Lloyd. Honorary pall bearers will be Herman Stevens, Claude Gootee, Ray Brohawn, Jacob Cranor, Jim Mills, Thomas Bradford and Cecil (Buck) Robbins.
