Pearl L. Pritchett, 88, of Cambridge passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at UMSMC at Dorchester. She was born in Easton on January 21, 1926 and was a daughter of the late Milton and Nettie Willey Eason.
She graduated from Easton High School class of 1944 and attended Eastern Pilgrim College in Allentown, PA. On June 8, 1946, she married Franklin F. Pritchett who passed away on August 17, 1991. Ms. Pearl was employed by Leggett's in Cambridge and later was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, putting puzzles together and working in her garage making wood crafts for others. She was a beloved long time member of the Cambridge Wesleyan Church where she served as Sunday School Teacher for 40 years and many were taught by Ms. Pearl. She also served on the church board and the District Ladies Spectacular where she made all the costumes; she was also very active in Vacation Bible School, CYC and sang in the choir. Ms. Pearl a gentle kind hearted woman full of faith, virtue and charity, who will be greatly missed by all those lives she touched. Ms. Pearl loved Christmas and enjoyed going out to play in the snow.
She is survived by two daughters Betty Dayton and husband Jimmy of Cambridge and Evangeline Hoffman and husband Jim of Cambridge, 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren, a brother Robert Eason of Georgia and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Pritchett is preceded in death by a son Franklin F. Pritchett, Jr., a great great grandchild Trent Williams, sisters Helen Hicks, Mary Harrison, Margaret Tennant, Betty Miller and Naomi Behren, brothers William Eason, Raymond Eason and Edward Eason.
Pallbearers will be Adam Pritchett, Billy Dayton, Eric Presley, Marc Mills, Ryan Mills and Bryan Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Duane Dieter, Planner Windsor, Ward Higgins, Wendell Meekins, Ricky Parker, Eldred Jones, Jimmy Thomas and Webster Johnson.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Cambridge Wesleyan Church in Cambridge with Rev. Jack Diehl and Rev. Paul Dieter officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made to a charity one's choice. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
