Peggie A. (Townsend) Kemp

Peggie A. Kemp, 73, of Hurlock passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. She was born in Chestertown on September 4, 1949 and was a daughter of the late George and Violet Paul Townsend.

Peggie attended schools in Chestertown. On April 29, 1967 she married Irving Oliver Kemp who passed away on May 18, 2010. She worked as a cook for numerous businesses in Dorchester County. Peggie enjoyed her flowers, saving cats and dogs, shopping and crafts.

She is survived by her children Rodney Kemp and wife Sheila of Hurlock, David Kemp and wife Tracy of Cambridge and Brian Kemp of Cambridge, eleven grandchildren Myranda Villalta, Carmen Villalta, Ricky Villalta, Jennifer Messick and husband Carl, Emma Kemp, Collin Kemp, Cody Kemp, Devin Kemp, Katie Dibble, Jonah Kemp and Josiah Kemp and three great grandchildren Landon Pham, Owen Messick and Brayden Messick. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Kemp is preceded in death by a daughter Melonie Villalta.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 11am at East New Market Cemetery with Rev. Richard Prahl officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
