Philip Morris Lyons, 38, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, October 24, 2011 at Dorchester General Hospital. He was born in Cambridge on June 14, 1973 and was the son of Nick and Tammy Lyons and the late Bonnie Mae Robbins Lyons.
He graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High School class of 1991. On January 24, 2004 he married the former Laura Fitzhugh. Philip was a Maryland Licensed Tree Expert. He owned and operated Dorchester Tree, LLC. His hobbies were hunting and muscle cars. He was a past member of Church Creek Volunteer Fire Company.
He is survived by his wife Laura Hope Lyons, his parents Nick and Tammy Lyons, his three sons Kyle Logan Powley, Grant Thomas Powley and Ian Christopher Powley, a sister Victoria Lyons, Uncles and Aunts Raymond and Gale Robbins and Hildon and Kay Robbins, mother and father in law Logan and Diane Fitzhugh all of Cambridge, a sister in law Deborah Webster and husband Brad of Mardela and a niece Halie Davidson of Mardela.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Powley, Brandon Burton, Freddie Ruark, Andy Dawson, Clint Collins and Jason Bramble. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 11a.m. at Open Bible Church with Mr. Steve Bloodsworth officiating. Burial will follow at Old Trinity Churchyard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Dorchester County Humane Society, P.O. Box 132, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to the Church Creek Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 16, Church Creek, MD 21622. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
