Phillip Jackson Stovall

Phillip J. Stovall, 92, of East New Market passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Mallard Bay Care Center. He was born in Waycross, Georgia on October 5, 1923 and was a son of the late William B. and Adele Johnson Stovall.
He graduated from Waycross, Georgia. On January 14, 1967, he married the former Sarah Koehler. Mr. Stovall served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked at Waverly Press in Easton. Mr. Stovall enjoyed fishing, hunting, model airplane and wood working. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Preston and the Air Modelers Club.
He is survived by his wife Sarah Stovall of East New Market, a son Phillip C. Stovall and wife Kathy of St. Michael, a step daughter Karen Gibbons-Neff of Vienna, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Mr. Stovall is preceded in death by a step daughter Carol Messick.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 10 am at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, near Hurlock with Rev. Thomas Becker officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
