R. Wallace Morris, 80, of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Mallard Bay Care Center. He was born at Toddville on August 23, 1929 and was a son of the late Vernon L. Morris Sr. and Mydra Meredith Morris.
He attended schools in South Dorchester. On September 10, 1948 he was married to the former Mary Ellen Meredith. Mr. Morris worked on the water most of his life. He was one of the first crab potters in the area. He had attended Zion United Methodist Church at Toddville.
Mr. Morris was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ellen Morris of Cambridge, a son
Vincent W. Morris and wife Tina of Fenwick Island, DE, a granddaughter Davina Littleton, two brothers Ronald Morris and wife Verne of Woolford, Vernon L. Morris, Jr. and wife Genevieve of Church Creek, two sisters Faye Meyer and husband Leonard of Cambridge, Brenda Douglas and husband David of Parsonsburg and many nieces, nephews and several cousins. Besides his parents, Mr. Morris is preceded in death by a daughter Donna M. Marshall, a sister Margaret Mills and a brother Meredith Morris.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 1p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Pastor David Douglas officiating. Burial will private.
