Ralph Craig Schneider

Ralph Craig Schneider, 70, of Cambridge passed away at UMSMC at Dorchester on Saturday November 26, 2016.  He was born in Baltimore on August 16, 1946 to the late Melvin Augustus Schneider, Sr. and Mariangela Caple Schneider.

Craig served in the Navy for three years.  On November 9, 1984, he married the former Barbara Zelinski.  He and Barbara shared a beloved home on Brooks Creek, which was his favorite place on Earth.  He worked as a supervisor at Verizon until he retired.

Craig enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, crossword puzzles, and scrabble.  He loved the outdoors, which he taught his daughters to love every day.  He had a special love for John Wayne.  Craig was a Commander of the VFW Post 7460 in Cambridge and a member of the American Legion Post 91.

Craig is survived by his wife of 32 years, Barbara, of Cambridge, daughters Katie Baucom and husband Chad, and Becky Woolford and husband Kenny, six grandchildren, sisters in law Faye Schneider and Georgie Schneider, three nieces and one great nephew.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers Melvin Augustus Schneider, Jr., Carl Schneider, and Barry Schneider.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 4:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Pam Bockart officiating.  Family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Choptank Memorial Post 7460, 115 Sandy Hill Rd, Cambridge, MD.
