Rebecca Ann Harper, 95, of Cambridge, passed away June 7, 2024 at UMSMC at Easton with her family by her side. She was born in Talbot County, the daughter of the late Carlton L. Pardoe and Marie S. Pardoe.
Until recently, she had been a member of The First Baptist Church of Cambridge where she attended faithfully for over 70 years, serving in many roles and involved in many activities.
On October 8, 1948, she married George S. Harper of Cambridge. They resided in Cambridge and celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary in 2023.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, George S. Harper II (Rosemarie) of East New Market and Richard W. Harper of East New Market, two granddaughters, Ann Marie Householder (Bryan) of Ohio and Juli Nacole Haines (Andy) of North Carolina, two great-grandchildren, Otto Householder and Kathryn Householder, and one sister, Kay Michael of Easton. She was preceded in death by five sisters and one brother.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 1pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Randall T. Blackmon officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 12pm. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Asplen, Wayne Asplen, Andy Engle, Terry Phillips, Junior Vanoy and Chuck Wheatley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Fellowship, 1312 Race Street, Cambridge, Maryland 21613 in her memory.
