Richard R. Moxey

Richard R. Moxey, 65, of Madison passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Dorchester General Hospital. He was born in Easton on August 22, 1947 and was a son of the late Andrew and Frances Wanex Moxey.

He graduated from North Dorchester High School class of 1965. Mr. Moxey served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam where he received Purple Heart with 2 bronze oak leaf clusters, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 bronze service stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon w/ Device and the Sharpshooter Badge with Rifle Bar. He married the former Debby Smith. He was a self employed waterman and later a contractor. He enjoyed gardening and fishing and loved his wife and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Debby Moxey of Madison, two sons Jason Moxey and wife Dania and their children Matthew, Jeremy and Brooke of East New Market and Clint Moxey and wife Stephanie and their children Lillian and Jacob of Woolford, five brothers and sisters Dolores Kollot of Clayton, DE, Bernice Simmons of New Jersey, Margaret DiCamilli of Broken Arrow, OK, Katherine Willey and her husband Tommy of Linkwood, Kenneth Moxey and wife Diana of Hurlock, two special nieces Lois Knight of Waco, TX and Karen Abersole of Clayton, DE and numerous other nieces and nephews and his pet dog Jake. Besides his parents, Mr. Moxey is preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery with Mr. Herbert Horsey officiating. The family has requested no flowers and that memorial contributions can be made to the Delaware Veterans Home, 100 Delaware Veterans Blvd, Milford, DE 19963 or to the Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
