Robert W. Ridgeway, 65, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Dorchester General Hospital. He was born in Washington, DC on May 1, 1947 and was a son of the late Ernest B. and Doris Arnold Ridgeway.

He graduated from Bladensburg High School. On July 2, 1966, he married the former Kathleen Scully. Mr. Ridgeway served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1966 until 1968. He worked for the Secret Service and retired in 1990. Mr. Ridgeway enjoyed street rods, boating and being with his family. He was a member of the National Hot Rod Association and the Cambridge Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen Ridgeway of Cambridge, two daughters Annette Ridgeway of Edgewater, MD and Christine A. Ridgeway- Embrey and husband Mark of St. Leonard, MD, a son Robert W. Ridgeway, Jr. and wife Nan of Edgewater, five grandchildren Erik, Genevieve, Emilie, Graeme and Evangeline, two brothers Allen Ridgeway of Springhill, FL and Burnnell Ridgeway of Cumming, GA, a sister Darlene Ridgeway of Springhill, FL and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 3 p.m. at the Cambridge Church of the Nazarene, 97 Sandy Hill Road, Cambridge, MD 21613 with Rev's. Richard and Sharon Prahl officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his name to the Cambridge Church of the Nazarene, 97 Sandy Hill Road, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge, MD.
