Robert B. Vickers

Robert B. Vickers, 85, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Hudson on March 1, 1932 and was a son of the late John S. and Goldie Bennett Vickers.

Mr. Vickers graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1951. On June 28, 1952, he married the former Mary E. Batchelor. Mr. Vickers worked over 30 years with A&P and retired in 1979 and worked part time with the Eastern Shore State Hospital with over 25 years of service. He enjoyed riding his bicycle, playing the piano and going out to different restaurants. Mr. Vickers was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Choptank Memorial Post 7460 VFW, Cambridge Moose Lodge and the American Legion Post #91.

He is survived by his wife Mary E. Vickers of Cambridge, a daughter Donna Trego and husband Michael of Cambridge, and a granddaughter Michelle Trego of Pocomoke. Besides his parents, Mr. Vickers is preceded in death by two half-brothers Julian R. Bennett and John T. Vickers, and a half-sister Dorothy Kux.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 1 pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. A. Delmer Willey, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Spedden Seward Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
