Robert W. Anderson, Jr.

Robert William Anderson, Jr., 88, of Woolford passed away peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 1, 1932 and was a son of the late Robert William Anderson, Sr. and Mildred Chloe Daufen Anderson.

Mr. Anderson graduated from High School Class of 1940. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953 to 1957. On February 14, 1954, he married the former Ruth Ann Bovard, who passed away on October 20, 2018. Mr. Anderson was an engineer and worked for RCA and Lockheed Martin. He enjoyed fishing, boating, flying and anything to do with airplanes. Also enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Anderson also enjoyed his grandchildren and working in the yard. He was a member of Cambridge Yacht Club.

He is survived by his children Kathy Lynn Anderson, Robert William Anderson III, David Paul Anderson, Steven Douglas Anderson, James Neil Anderson and Mark Jason Anderson, 16 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, three sisters, a brother, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents and his wife, Mr. Anderson is preceded in death by three sisters.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Old Trinity Church with Father Dan Dunlap officiating. In lieu of flowers, contribution to the Alzheimers Association, 909 Progress Circle Ste. 400, Salisbury, MD 21804. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
