Robin L. Hughes, 47, of Hurlock passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at her home. She was born in Cambridge on October 2, 1966 and was a daughter of JoAnn Cannon Bloodsworth Cox and the late Rudy Bloodsworth.
She graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High school class of 1984. After high school, she worked at Dunkin Donuts and at Airpax. On June 3, 1989, she married Andrew J. Hughes, Jr. After Airpax, she started college to get her nursing degree at Del Tech. She was a CNA for Dorchester County Home Health, later she was an LPN at Glasgow Nursing Home and at the time of her passing she was employed at Chesapeake Woods Center as a Registered Nurse. She also had worked with Dr. Reinbolt and Dr. Narr. She enjoyed ocean cruises, whitewater rafting, photography, cooking and gardening. She loved her family and staying in touch with her patient families. She was involved in the Girl Scouts where she served as a Daisy Leader in Secretary. She is survived by her husband Andrew Hughes, Jr. of Hurlock, three children A.J. Hughes of Rhode Island, Tyler Hughes of Pasadena and Lindsey Hughes of Princess Anne, her mother JoAnn Cox of Cambridge, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her father, Robin is preceded in death by a brother Charles A. Bloodsworth and her step father Christopher Cox.
Pallbearers will be Stanley Hughes, Wyatt Oliver, Tommy Gray, Wylie Gray, Jr., Ricky Gray, Keith Gray, Tyler Hughes and A.J. Hughes.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. A. Delmer Willey, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at East New Market Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Chesapeake Woods Center, c/o the Activity Department, 525 Glenburn Ave., Cambridge, MD 21613.
