Roger F. Adams, Jr., 53, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2010 at Dorchester General Hospital. He was born on November 15, 1956 in Cambridge and was a son of Roger F. Adams, Sr. and the late Elizabeth "Betty" Tieder Adams.
Roger graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1974. He worked for Dorchester County Roads Board for 29 years as a welder. He was also a partner in the family farming business and also had a private welding business. He enjoyed sporting clays, hunting and fishing. He was a member of Bucktown United Methodist Church, a 21 year member of Cambridge Lodge #66 A. F. & A. M. and Cambridge Moose Lodge.
He is survived by two daughters Katelyn E. Adams and Kelsey M. Adams both of Cambridge, his father Roger F. Adams of Cambridge, two brothers J. Toby Adams of Cambridge and Mark D. Adams of Cambridge, a niece Logan E. Adams, a nephew Carson T. Adams and several aunts, uncles and cousins.A A
Pallbearers will be J. Toby Adams, Mark Adams, Brad Murphy, Mark Elliott, Billy Short, Eric Doty, Donnie Moore and Russell Insley. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Thomas, Don Townsend, Goldsborough James, Tommy Pleasant, Lingan Spicer and Steve Willey.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Mary Ann Farnell officiating. Burial will follow at Bucktown Churchyard. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service. A Masonic service will be held on Sunday at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bucktown Churchyard Fund, c/o Franklin Knauer, 3275 Knauer Road, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to Linkwood-Salem Volunteer Fire Co., P. O. Box 66, Linkwood, MDA 21835.
