Ronald C. Edgar

Ronald C. Edgar, 75, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Dorchester General Hospital. He was born in Cambridge on February 20, 1936 and was a son of the late Leroy B. Edgar, Sr. and Margaret Shenton Edgar.

He graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1955. On December 18, 1960 he married the former Barbara Mills. He was a farmer and worked with his two sons Jeff and Steve. He served in the Army National Guard. He enjoyed hunting and being with his family. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, 29th Infantry Division, Dorchester County Farm Bureau and the Maryland 4-H All Star.

He is survived by his wife Barbara M. Edgar of Cambridge, two sons Jeff Edgar of Cambridge and Steve Edgar and wife Dawn of Cambridge, a grandson Tyler Edgar, a sister Jean Newcomb of Cambridge and three nieces and a nephew. Besides his parents, Mr. Edgar is preceded in death by a son Ronald Mark Edgar and a brother Leroy B. Edgar, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Edgar, Steve Edgar, Tyler Edgar, Wade Dawson, Max Schnoor, Martin Pepper, Bobby Folk and Bobby Brooks. Honorary pallbearers will be Ollie Bennett, Bobby Cordery, Sonny Jackson, Brian Marshall, Pat Doyle and Donald Newcomb.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Everett Isaacs officiating. Burial will follow at East New Market Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A.
