Rosalie M. Arnie

Rosalie Mae Mills Arnie, 95, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Chesapeake Woods Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Cambridge. She was born in Cambridge on August 14, 1918, the daughter of the late Gordy E. and Bertha Todd Mills of Crocheron, MD.

She attended schools in Cambridge and had worked as a ticket agent for Red Star and Carolina Trailways for many years before retiring from Airpax with more than 20 years of service. On September 18, 1942 she married the late Franklin Darcy Arnie who passed away May 9, 1998. She had been in failing health for several years and had resided with her daughter and son-in-law prior to entering Chesapeake Woods in 2011.

She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Kailianu and husband, Del of Cambridge, a son, James M. Arnie of Odenton and a sister, Alanda Louise Bramble and husband, Pardee of Bishops Head. She was preceded in death by a sister Hilda Marguerite Mills who died in infancy.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 29th at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Randall T. Blackmon officiating. Burial will follow at the East New Market Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Tull, James Arnie, Del Kailianu, Eddie Elzey, John Moore, and Paul Landers. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Fellowship Building Fund, 1312 Race Street, Cambridge, MD 21613.
