Roucelle Naomi Jones

Roucelle N. Jones, 89, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Dorchester General Hospital. She was born in Crocheron on September 10, 1923 and was a daughter of the late William M. and Manola Sullender Robinson.

Mrs. Jones attended schools in Crocheron. On August 3, 1941 she married Amos Calvert Jones, who passed away on September 7, 2006. She was employed by several local seafood factories including Bradye Todd and Son and I.F. Cannon and Son. Mrs. Jones attended Bethany United Methodist Church in Crocheron.

She is survived by two daughters Bonnie R. McCarter and husband Wayne of Cambridge and Cindy Jones-Pritchett and husband Norval Pritchett, Jr. of Cambridge, a son Daniel M. Jones and companion Kim Kennedy of Cambridge, two granddaughters Amanda Jones and Tammie McCarter and companion Sonny Willey, two grandsons Brian Jones and companion Shanna Ashby and Chris Jones and wife Troi Lynn, a great granddaughter Taylor Jones, a nephew Lee Robinson, a daughter in law Joyce Ann Jones. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Jones is preceded in death by a son Luther C. Jones and two brothers Leroy Robinson and Clarence Robinson.

Pallbearers will be Wayne McCarter, Norval Pritchett, Jr., Chris Jones, Brian Jones, Sonny Willey and Lee Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Reginald Todd and Billy Insley.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Barbara Mills and Pastor George W. Wheatley, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
