Ruth K. Langrall, 89, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Mallard Bay Care Center. She was born in Cambridge on October 6, 1928 to the late Charles T. Harris and Emma Elizabeth Hurley Harris.
Ms. Langrall attended schools in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1945. After graduation, she worked as an operator for the C&P Telephone Company. For many years, she worked as a grocery store clerk at Meatland, and later for Food City. She volunteered for many years with the American Legion Auxillary Dorchester Unit 91 and for the Choptank Memorial Post 7460, V.F.W.
She is survived by two daughters, Vickie Ann Towers of Taylors Island and Deborah Lynn Elliott of Cambridge, four grandchildren Shannon Vollmer of Cambridge, Sarah Lewis of Bivalve, Joshua Vollmer of Colorado, and Brittany Sherman of Cambridge, a good friend and neighbor "Buzzy" Andrews, and numerous extended family. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother C. Gilbert Harris of Pennsylvania, and her longtime partner William Reed.
At her request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Choptank Memorial Post 7460, V.F.W., 115 Sandy Hill Rd. Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge, MD.
