Ruth M. Willey, 81, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, July 26, 2010 at Chesapeake Woods Center. She was born in Golden Hill on March 9, 1929 and was a daughter of the late Caleb A. and Mary Cousins Simmons.
Mrs. Willey attended schools in Crapo and graduated from Crapo High School class of 1946. On May 1, 1948 she married Raymond D. Willey. He passed away on July 6, 1970. She had worked at Rob Roy, English's and retired from Airpax. Mrs. Willey enjoyed reading, doing puzzles and word find.
She is survived by a daughter Phyllis Lee and husband David of Cambridge, two sons Richard L. Willey of Vienna and Wayne P. Willey and wife Sheila of Cambridge, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a sister Elizabeth Dodson of Cambridge, a brother Robert Simmons of Cambridge and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by a son David Willey, a brother John Simmons and four sisters Mary Hollander, Dorothy Belanga, Sara Gootee and Florence Turner.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
