S. Edwin Todd

March 23, 1941 — January 4, 2011

S. Edwin Todd, 69 of Crocheron, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 4, 2011. He was born in Cambridge on March 23, 1941, and was a son of Annabell Robinson Todd and the late William Carroll Todd.

Edwin attended schools in South Dorchester and graduated from South Dorchester High School in 1959. On September 14, 1962 he was married to the former Mary Tall. Edwin was a lifelong waterman who loved his chosen profession and was held in high esteem by his peers for his work ethic and knowledge of the water. He enjoyed working on and maintaining his workboat, the Four Grand and also enjoyed hunting, watching baseball, watching westerns and spending time with his children and grandchildren, as well as his chocolate lab Skittles. Edwin was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, where he had taught Sunday School for several years.

He is survived by his wife Mary T. Todd of Crocheron, three daughters Judy T. Aaron and her husband Steve Aaron of Cambridge, Joyce T. Hyde and husband George Hyde of East New Market and Renee Todd of Wake Forest, NC, four grandchildren Stephen Aaron, Hunter Aaron, Joshua Hyde and Jordan Hyde, his mother Annabell Todd of Crocheron, two cousins Ted Robinson of Woolford and Alene McGlaughlin of Bishops Head. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a brother William Brian Todd.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with the Rev. Barbara Mills officiating. Interment will follow at Old Trinity Churchyard. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday. Pallbearers will be Stephen Aaron, Hunter Aaron, Joshua Hyde, Jordan Hyde, Ted Robinson, Dickie Schauber and Melecio Hernandez Granados. Honorary bearers will be Danny Jones, Greg Cusick, Jira McGlaughlin, Eddie McGlaughlin, Earl Todd, Steve Webster and Steve Elliott. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. Mary T.
