Samantha L. Allen

Samantha Leah Allen, born April 1, 1997 of Hurlock, Md. passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2017 in Potsdam, NY.

Sam graduated from North Dorchester High School in 2015 and graduated from Chesapeake College in April of 2017 with an AA Degree in Business Management. Over the summer, she realized her passion for working with special needs children at Talbot County YMCA. She had just begun her venture into an internship program in New York with SUNY Plattsburgh through AmeriCorps Vista. She had a strong passion for helping others and traveling the world. She enjoyed family, her friends, her cat “Oliver” and living each day to the fullest. Her spirit was and always will be free.

She is survived by her mother Ginger Shimek and stepfather Steve Shimek of Hurlock, Md. Her brother Anthony Frangoulis of Baltimore, her sister Angela Frangoulis and her niece, Isabelle of LaPlata, Md. Her maternal grandmother Dorothy Sapper and her uncle Brett Sapper and wife Alexandra of Crofton, Md. Her uncle Rusty Sapper and wife Stacie of Ohio. Joe Shimek and wife Susan of Hurlock, Md. And her paternal grandparents Tom and Elsie Shimek of Secretary, and several cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 11 am at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge. At the request of the family, please no real flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to YMCA of the Chesapeake, 202 Peach Blossom Lane, Easton, MD 21601.
