Sarah Edwina (“Eddie”) Guelta, 92, unexpectedly died from a car accident on Saturday, August 24, 2024. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on August 29, 1931 to the late William Edwin Dashields and Sarah Towers Dashields.
Edwina attended Eastern High School in Baltimore. She retired from Don White’s Timonium Chrysler Plymouth as a bookkeeper. Upon retirement, Edwina and her husband, Kenneth, moved from the Baltimore area to the Eastern Shore of Maryland in Church Creek. This enabled Edwina to pursue her enthusiasm and talent for boating, cooking, sewing, quilting, and cross stitch. Her friends in the Cambridge Modern Quilt Guild and Bayside Quilters of the Eastern Shore will truly miss her presence. One of Eddie’s greatest joys was being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her beloved husband of 53 years, A. Kenneth Guelta; Edwina is survived by three daughters: Dale Natale (James) of Bel Air, MD, S. Denise Vaughan of Delta, PA, and Cheryl Lapouraille (Mark) of Jarrettsville, MD; a stepson Mark Guelta (Robin) of Baltimore, MD; seven grandchildren: Karrie Strickland (Jason), Daryl Vaughan, Danielle Williamson (Brian), Nick Mezzanotte (Rachel), Bridget Greene (Nathan), Drew Lapouraille (Zel), and Kenny Guelta; and eleven great-grandchildren Hogan, Jared, Ava, Carly, Christian, Anthony, Liberty, Nolan, Collin, Cameron, and Carson. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Frederick Heckmann, son-in-law, Donald Vaughan; grandson, Troy Vaughan; and two sisters: Virginia Hryseck & Leila MacGeorge, and beloved dog, Max and cat, Samantha.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Edwina by donating to your local Humane Society.
