Sarah Emma (Koehler) Stovall

Sarah K. Stovall, 98, of Trappe, passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Rayland Acres Assisted Living in Trappe.  She was born in Pine Grove, PA on December 2, 1922 to the late John Ivan Koehler and Helen Zerbe Koehler.

Sarah graduated from Pine Grove High School in 1940.  On January 14, 1967, she married Phillip Jackson Stovall, who passed away on July 14, 2016.  For many years, Sarah worked as a proof reader for Waverly Press.  She enjoyed sewing just about anything.  Sarah and Phillip together loved line dancing and water aerobics.  Her favorite thing in life though was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Sarah was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Preston.

Sarah is survived by her daughter Karen Gibbons-Neff of Preston; step son Phillip Stovall and wife Kathy of St. Michaels; grandchildren Kevin Smedley, Stephanie Smedley, Alyssa Hughes and husband Brad, Henner Gibbons-Neff and wife Kim, Hilary Gibbons-Neff, and Corey Golden; great grandchildren Dru Moore, Jeffrey Moore, Tanner Hughes, Mackenzie Hughes, Hayden Gibbons-Neff, Grayson Gibbons-Neff, Alden Gibbons-Neff, Kristen Golden, Alan Golden, and Hailey; and great-great grandchildren Raiker and Miloh Sheldon.  Besides her parents and her husband, Sarah is preceded in death by her daughter Carol Coleman Messick.

Per Sarah’s request, all services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 242 Main St, Preston, MD 21655.  Arrangements are in the care of Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
