Sarah Elizabeth Wagner of Hurlock, MD passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 65 years old. Born in Baltimore, MD on September 17, 1958, Sarah was the daughter of the late Elmer Ray Greene and Nancy Louise Dixon.
Sarah worked at Walmart in Cambridge for 23 years. She managed several departments during her time there but most people remember her from when she worked in the deli. Sarah enjoyed having her nails done in beautiful and bright colors, going to the beach to lay on the sand and sunbathe, as well as laying in the pool and catching some sun rays at home. She greatly enjoyed going to car shows with her son and accompanying him while he worked on his trucks. One of her favorite things to do was going to rock and country concerts and enjoying the wonderful music while having a drink or two. She had the most sincere love for her son, daughter-in-law and her family. Being a mom was everything to her, her son being her greatest accomplishment in life, her heart and soul and what she lived for. Her daughter in law was treated as one of her own, there were no two people that she talked about and loved more. Sarah was absolutely thrilled that she was going to become a Grandma to her first granddaughter due in November, buying every baby related item she could and always talking about the fun that she and her granddaughter were going to have. Sarah was loved by many and known by many more. She had a big heart and opened it up to everyone, acting out of the kindness of her heart, without expecting anything in return. Whenever her son was out and saw somebody they knew, the first question would always be “how's your mom doing?” Helping her friends and family was a priority, she always wanted everyone else to be okay before addressing her own needs. Even while she was sick, she still wanted other people taken care of. Don't be upset for Sarah, she is no longer in pain and taking care of her grandson now, still doing what she loves. If you were lucky enough to know and love her, don't cry because she's gone, but smile and remember the good times. Reminisce on them often, but most importantly, remember that she will always be in our hearts, and live through us forever.
Sarah is survived by her son Douglas “Mack” Pearson, daughter-in-law Tara Coking; three siblings: Charles Greene, Mary Greene and Angela Robinson. In addition to her parents, Sarah is preceded in death by a brother Elmer Ray Greene, Jr; and a grandson, Brooks Pearson.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Jack Diehl officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
