Sharon L. Hynson, 78, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, January 5, 2009 at Dorchester General Hospital. She was born in Cambridge on April 14, 1930 and was a daughter of the late Walter Grayson and Reita Dayton Hynson, Sr.
She graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1947. She worked for Phillips Hardware which became Tri Gas and Oil for 58 years. Some of her hobbies were sports, bowling, liked to sing in the Church Choir and loved the water. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cambridge.
She is survived by a special friend Edna Mae Fraley of Cambridge and several cousins. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by a brother Walter Grayson Hynson, Jr., who passed away on November 6, 2007.
Pallbearers will be Billy Fraley, Jr., Charles Robinson, George Harper, John Brannock, Scott Moore, John Moore, Del Kailianu, Bill Leonard, Ricky Shorter and Barry Wingate.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cambridge with Rev. Jerry Wade officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church, 501 Glenburn Ave., Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
