Shelda R. Fitzhugh, 79, of Hurlock passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Chesapeake Woods Center. She was born in Crocheron on March 26, 1941 and was a daughter of the late Sheldon and Triffinia “Trissie” Pritchett Truitt.
She graduated from South Dorchester High School class of 1959 with honors. Shelda worked at Airpax, Coldwater Seafood, Jim's Place and with Millie's at Nanticoke Inn. She enjoyed reading, watching soaps, and Joel Osteen. She also loved listen to Elvis. Shelda was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Cambridge, but still supported her home church, Bethany United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the American Legion Post #91. Shelda was a past member of the Cambridge Moose and Southern States Women and Board.
She is survived by two sons Jeff Fitzhugh and wife Amy of Hurlock and Duane Fitzhugh and Rudy Bertile of Reston, VA, two grandchildren Hunter and Victoria Fitzhugh, sister in law Shari Wyatt of Trappe, her former husband William Fitzhugh, Jr. of Hurlock, a niece Allison Wyatt of Trappe and several close cousins. Besides her parents, Ms. Fitzhugh is preceded in death by a brother Michael Wyatt and a nephew Allen Michael Wyatt.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Phillips, Donnie Wroten, Ricky Pritchett, Tommy Holotik, Johnny Holotik and Greg Cusick.
A walk through visitation will be Friday, March 5, 2021 from 5pm to 7pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with a graveside service on Saturday, March 6th at 1 pm at East New Market Cemetery with Rev. George W. Wheatley, Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., 700 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 to help defray funeral cost.
