Shirley T. (Trego) Colburn

Shirley T. Colburn, 89, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Chesapeake Woods Center. She was born in Cambridge on November 23, 1928 and was a daughter of the late Hubert C. Trego, Sr. and Marie Brannock Trego.

Mrs. Colburn graduated from Cambridge High School with honors, class of 1945. In 1950, she married Ernest H. Colburn, who passed away in September of 1985. She was employed at one time with Phillips Packing Company, Feldman's Furniture and she retired from C&P Telephone. Mrs. Colburn enjoyed gardening, and crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Pioneers and Grace United Methodist Church. Once a month, she and her classmates called the “Get Together Club” would meet.

She is survived by a brother Hubert C. Trego, Jr. and wife Starr of Cambridge, a sister Linda T. Wise and husband Laird Wise, Jr. of Ellicott City, a nephew Jason Wise of Trappe, and two nieces Edith Carpenter of Annapolis and Patti Tieder of Taylors Island and several great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Colburn is preceded in death by a sister Patsy T. Carpenter.

Pallbearers will be Jason Wise, Laird Wise, Jr., Josh Tieder, Jacob Tieder, JT Tieder, and Barney Fairall.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11 am at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev.’s Christina Blake and Douglas M. Ridley officiating. Interment will follow at Oxford Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the Baraca Class, c/o Barney Fairall, P.O.
