Shirley V. McGlaughlin

Shirley V. McGlaughlin, 74 of Princess Anne, passed away at the home of her daughter in Berlin on Thursday, February 18, 2010. She was born in Cambridge on October 11, 1935, and was a daughter of the late Dorsey and Louise Harris Lowe.

She attended schools in Cambridge. Some years ago she had worked at Bumble Bee Tuna in Cambridge. On October 10, 1970 she was married to Charles M. McGlaughlin. After she was married she was a homemaker and raised her five children. They had made their home in Pocomoke for over ten years. Mr. McGlaughlin passed away on August 4, 1978. She had worked at Perdue for 11 years until she retired several years ago. For the past 20 years she had made her home in Princess Anne. Mrs. McGlaughlin enjoyed gardening and working with flowers. She had been in failing health for the past five years when she passed away on Thursday morning.

Survivors include two daughters Cheryl Lynn Johnson of Berlin, Joyce A. Agosto and her husband Juan Agosto of Melbourne, Florida, three sons Donald J. Webb, Jr. of Salisbury, Robert M. Webb of Pacolet, South Carolina and Michael A. Webb of Melbourne, Florida. She is also survived by six grandchildren Michelle A. Agosto, Jamie L. Webb, Melissa A. Piper, Joseph M. Webb, Kyle M. Webb and Samantha D. Webb, three sisters Arbutus Sanford of Colonial Beach, VA, Anita Betts of Georgetown, DE and Roberta O'Neal of Michigan, two brothers Linwood Lowe of Sharptown and Robert Lowe of East New Market and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a daughter Cherry L. Webb, one grandson Robert L. Agosto and one sister Priscilla Lawson and one brother Calvin Lowe.

A funeral service will be held on Monday afternoon at 3:30 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with Capt. Stephen Story of the Cambridge Salvation Army officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 114 Baptist Street, Salisbury, MD 21801-4911.
