Shirley M. Ruark, 81 of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2012 peacefully at her home. She was born in Baltimore on December 31, 1930 and was a daughter of the late Iantha Bacon Fultz Ryskewich and Henry Fultz.
Mrs. Ruark attended schools in Baltimore City. On May 28, 1971, she married Donald S. Ruark. She spent most of her life as a homemaker. Mrs. Ruark's biggest joy in life was her family. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. Mrs. Ruark was a member of a Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband Donald S. Ruark of Cambridge, her children Ray Raines (Carolyn) of Ocala, FL, Bonnie Moore of Cambridge, Shirley Ann Marshall (Rex) of Cambridge, Jane Dorman (Sonny) of Cambridge, Pat Windsor (Kenny) of Cambridge, Laurence Walter, Jr. (Tina) of Cambridge, Donna Kibbe (Marty) of Derwood, MD and James Walter (Gayle) of PawPaw, WV, grandchildren Pammie McWhinnie, Josh Gapetz, George Brode, Jr., Thomas Brode, Rex Marshall, Jr., Tim Dorman, Nikki Short, Jennifer Harrington, Heather Windsor, Melissa Campbell, Laurence Walter III and Sam Kibbe, fifteen great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, half brother Eric Fultz, a cousin Jean Moseley, sister in laws Karen Ruark, Betty Lou Middleton and Louella Ruark, dear friend and caregiver Crystal Cornish and other caregivers and her dog Missy. Besides her parents, Mrs. Ruark is preceded in death by a daughter Diane Walter, a granddaughter Kate Kibbe and two half brothers.
Pallbearers will be Rex Marshall, Sr., Sonny Dorman, Kenny McDonald, Marty Kibbe, Sam Kibbe and Roger Short III.
A private graveside service will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012 at Dorchester Memorial Park. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
