S. Kenneth Elzey

S. Kenneth Elzey, 86, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Chesapeake Woods Center. He was born in Cambridge on December 25, 1930 and was a son of the late Milton and Bessie Wroten Elzey.

Mr. Elzey attended schools in Cambridge. On September 17, 1949, he married the former Nellie “Midge” Kimmey, who passed away on November 27, 1999. He worked at Cambridge Wire Cloth for 29 years and later at Maryland Wire Belts for 20 years. Mr. Elzey was a past member of the Cambridge Moose Lodge.

He is survived by a son A. Kent Elzey and wife Carolyn of Cambridge, a daughter Julia A. Newman and husband C.R. of East New Market, six grandchildren Scott Elzey, Stephanie Elzey, Ryan Elzey, Christy Ashton, Stacey Seymour and Sherry Todd, five great grandchildren, a sister Patsy Robbins of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife, Mr. Elzey is preceded in death by five brothers Edgar Elzey, John Elzey, James Elzey, Richard Elzey and Russell Elzey, three sisters Frances Goodiel, Mary Warfield and Margaret Ruark.

Pallbearers will be Dickie Warfield, Ricky Mooney, Donnie Wilcox, Scott Elzey, John Ashton and Adam Todd.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 1pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Pastor Dale Krotee officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Immanuel United Church of Christ, 5401 White Hall Road, Cambridge, MD 21613.
