Stephen E. Ervin, 54, of Hurlock, formerly of Virginia Beach, passed away on August 9, 2017 at Chesapeake Woods Center in Cambridge. He was born on September 4, 1962 in Easton to the late Linwood Edward and Marlene Lois Brobst Ervin.
Steve was raised in Queenstown, MD. He attended QACHS thru 12th grade. He became an electrician working for local companies until he moved to North Carolina and later Virginia Beach. He continued his electrical work there and later went on to work for Lockheed Martin and MCI Worldcom traveling coast to coast until he finally settled back on the shore when his daughter was born. She was the love of his life and he enjoyed spending time with her as much as possible. He also enjoyed taking extended vacations to the Dominican Republic, spending time with family and friends, crabbing, fishing and going out on his boat.
Mr. Ervin is survived by his daughter Ashley Ervin of Hurlock, a sister Natasha Ervin of Hurlock, a brother Timothy Ervin of Ruthsburg, MD, a niece Jessica Lee, nephew Timothy Ervin III, and numerous extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Ervin, Timothy Ervin III, Stevie Smith, Trevor Hammon, and Gordy Jones.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 1 PM at Unity Washington United Methodist Church in Hurlock with Rev. John Allen III officiating. Interment will follow at Unity Washington Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11 AM to 1 PM at Unity Washington United Methodist Church. Arrangements are in the care of Thomas Funeral Home, P.A.
