Steven C. "Skip" Dukes

Steven “Skip” Dukes, 53, of Secretary, Maryland, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025, surrounded by family after a difficult battle with cancer.

A graduate of North Dorchester High School, Steve went on to a career in the United States Coast Guard retiring after 24 years as an E-8 Senior Chief Petty Officer. Following his retirement, he continued using the knowledge he gained in the Coast Guard working for Regal Rexnord for several years.

Steve is survived by his daughter, Brittany Dukes (Robert); his parents Walter and Susan Dukes; his sister, Christy Dukes Caputo; his nephew, Dominic Caputo; and his niece, Briley Caputo. He was also "Uncle Steve" to a special young man JJ Hughes. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and co-workers.

A viewing will be held at Thomas Funeral Home, 700 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD on Thursday, January 16 from 10-11:00 am followed by a ceremony at Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, 6827 East New Market Ellwood Road, Hurlock, MD at noon.
