Sybil A. Jones

Sybil McGinn Jones, 95, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Rayland Acres in Trappe. She was born in Cambridge on April 4, 1929 and was the daughter of the late William Lemuel McGinn and Hazel Tubman Messick.

She graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1947. She married the late Donald K. Jones on May 25, 2004. Mr. Jones passed away on September 8, 2021.

She is survived by a son Allen Hoge and wife Diane and a daughter Diana Brooks and husband Jack both of Cambridge, grandchildren Renee Merritt, Jessica O’Connor, Clay Brooks and Matthew Brooks, seven great grandchildren Josie, Jack, and Juliette Kostelac, Clayton, Brady, Vaughn and Spencer Brooks, a brother Kenny Edgar (Judy), and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Jones is preceded in death by a brother T. William “Bill” McGinn and a sister Frances Eskridge.

Per her wishes, there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion United Church Endowment Fund, 612 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
