Sylvia Hart Collison
August 25, 1915 — August 19, 2012
Sylvia Hart Collison, 96, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at her home. She was born in Robbins on August 25, 1915 and was a daughter of the late Harry and Vergie Robbins Hart.
She attended schools in Robbins. In May of 1941, she married William "Cy" Collison who passed away on October 26, 1979. She worked for Phillips Packing Company until she retired in 1968. Mrs. Collison was also a truck farmer for a few years. She enjoyed traveling around the country and going on bus trips.
She is survived by a daughter Linda Phillips and husband Gary of Cambridge, two grandchildren Lisa Phillips and Gary Phillips, Jr. both of Cambridge, nieces and nephews Joan Stevens, Gilbert Hart, Dewey Hart, Robert Trice, Georgie Ann Taylor, Gary Hart and Ronnie Hart. Besides her parent and her husband, Mrs. Collison is preceded in death by a sister Lillian Trice and three brothers Melvin Hart, Hubert Hart and H. Nelson Hart.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Dorchester Memorial Park with Rev. Janelle Beiler officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802 or to the Linkwood Salem Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 66, Linkwood, MD 21835. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
