Terri P (Pinto) Miller

August 17, 1957 — November 20, 2018

Terri Pinto Miller, 61, of Cambridge passed away on November 20, 2018 at UMSMC at Dorchester.  She was born in Dunmore, PA on August 17, 1957 to the late Anthony and Juana Pinto.

Terri lived her life passionately and her love of family and friends was at the core of her being, her giving, and her actions.

Terri and Jim married and had 33 extraordinary years together.  She constantly thought of her family and friends, making plans and activities especially for the children.  Her strong Italian heritage and recipes were equaled only by her love of the Steelers.  Her intelligence, creativity, and sensitivity along with her strong verbal attitudes earned her respect and adoration by all who knew her.

Terri earned her RN, becoming a highly experienced nurse and manager in child and adolescent mental health and addictions.  For 20 years, Terri was a forensic nurse, first in Pittsburgh, and then in Montgomery County corrections.  Terri’s professionalism, teaching skills, and relationships inspired high esteem from medical and correctional coworkers as well as inmates.

Terri was a VP in UFCW local 1994.  She was dedicated to the union and went on rallies, defended the contracts and advocated for the rights of the nurses in disputes.

Terri is survived by her husband of 33 years, James M. Miller, of Cambridge, her son Shaun A. Miller of West Virginia, her grandson David I. Miller of Cambridge, her brother Anthony J. Pinto of Raleigh, NC, and numerous dear family and friends in Dunmore, PA, Michigan, Maryland, North Carolina, Texas, and the Armed Forces.

Always giving, Terri was an organ donor, giving of herself to help others and in research.  A celebration of Terri’s life will be held at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre at Rockville Civic Center Park in the Social Hall located at 603 Edmonston Drive, Rockville, MD 20851 on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 1 PM until 6 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in the form of a check to David Miller’s college fund, or cash donations can be made to help defray costs.  Arrangements are in care of Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge, MD.
